Lean Management (15 hours)

Overview

This course introduces the fundamental concepts of Lean philosophy and processes. It helps participants contribute effectively to their organization’s Operational Excellence initiatives by understanding how lack of quality impacts performance and how Lean principles address these challenges.

The Lean Management course provides a clear and practical framework focused on customer satisfaction, cost reduction, improved performance and higher quality. By the end of the course, participants will have an intermediate understanding of Lean and will be able to identify processes requiring improvement and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Course content

The course is composed of four modules:

  • Lean overview: philosophy, people, methodology, measurements and tools.
  • Cause, problem and consequence differentiation.
  • Identification of value-added work, waste and variation.
  • DMAIC methodology and practical application.
  • 5S and standard work.
  • Kaizen simulation covering Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control phases.
  • Application of Lean concepts in real work environments.

Teaching approach

The course combines presentations, group discussions, participant interaction and practical exercises. A Kaizen simulation workshop allows participants to experience Lean and continuous improvement concepts in action.
